| This 21 year old patient from El Cajon, California was referred to Dr. Tom Pousti by Kaiser Permanente for body contouring after significant weight loss.
This patient
had lost over 120 pounds and was happy about the weight loss but
unhappy about the "saggy skin" and "droopy breasts".
She decided to look into breast implants, breast lifting and tummy
tuck surgery. She met with Dr. Pousti and discussed all of the potential
risks and complications for breast augmentation, mastopexy (breast
lifting), and abdominoplasty surgery. She decided to proceed with
all of the procedures at the same time because Dr. Pousti had informed
her that it would be safe for her to do so. The night before surgery, the patient met with Dr. Pousti to have "markings" performed. All of the incision lines were drawn on the patient and the measurements were made to ensure a successful surgical outcome.
In the operating
room, Dr. Pousti and his staff take great care to ensure the safety
of the patient and to achieve the results that the patient is wants.
She will wear the abdominal binder and bra and bandeau for one month after surgery. These garments will help protect and support these areas and aid in the healing process. The drains that you see are removed 1-2 weeks after surgery.
This patient
is now only 3 weeks out of major cosmetic surgery -- bilateral breast
augmentation with silicone gel implants, bilateral breast lifting
surgery (mastopexy) and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) surgery.
It amazes me how much one’s life can be changed for the better under the influence of a positive attitude and incredible support. On May 30, 2006, I underwent Gastric Bypass Surgery performed by Dr. George Zorn at Pacific Bariatrics. I was eating healthier, exercising regularly, thanks to my personal trainer, and enjoying my healthy lifestyle. The rapid weight loss of 120 pounds, although beneficial and successful, left me with excess skin and an unrecognizable body of which I was embarrassed of. After multiple consultations with Dr. Zorn and my primary care physician it was agreed that no matter how much I exercised the skin would not go away. It was then that I realized, however frightening, plastic surgery seemed it was my only hope for a confident and comfortable lifestyle in the long term future. I consulted with several plastic surgeons before meeting with Dr. Tom Pousti. Both my mom and I were thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and genuine attitudes the entire staff exuded. Dr. Pousti made us feel welcomed and at ease. All of our questions were answered as we explored different options for surgery and reviewed pictures. Dr. Pousti and his staff are committed to the satisfaction of their patients. The entire office has extensive experience and compassion in dealing with Gastric Bypass patients, which was what attributed to my decision that Dr. Pousti was the best surgeon for my needs. I had my extended tummy tuck, breast lift and breast augmentation on May 4, 2007 at Alvarado Hospital. On that morning, I met with Dr. Pousti to answer any last minute questions. I walked into the operating room, IV in hand and laid down on the OR table and the next thing I remember is waking up and being introduced to Julie from The Hideaway Recover Center. I made the decision to stay at The Hideaway after a recommendation from Dr. Pousti. The Hideaway allowed me to recover with a specially trained nursing staff and gave my family the opportunity to be educated in how to help me when I returned home. The Hideaway was beautiful and peaceful. It was a bittersweet moment to leave the Hideaway Recover Center. Thank you for my new life! KDB
