I had dreamt of breast augmentation for well over 20 years. Coming from a family of busty women, I felt nature had cheated me by giving me modest 34B’s. His being double board certified was most impressive and the photos on his website blew me away! Breast Augmentation: Finding the Perfect Doctor I am in my early 20’s and I have been interested in getting breast augmentation for over 2 years before I actually began researching the procedure. It came to a point where every time I closed my eyes and saw myself, I always envisioned myself with larger breasts. I wanted to feel sexier and more comfortable in my own skin. I have been married to a wonderful man for nearly 2 years when I decided that breast augmentation surgery was for me; my husband fully supported my choice. When Dr. Pousti provided me with a consultation, he informed me that I would also need a “limited breast lift.” I never knew what a lift really was until he notified me of it. He provided me ample knowledge on breast lifts and strongly recommended that I get one incorporation with my augmentation which would assist in achieving the best result possible. The professionalism Dr. Pousti displayed told me that he is an expert and if anyone would know best, it would be him. I followed his guidance, and the result is nothing but outstanding. The Surgery My surgery was done in Nov. 2011. I was both anxious and excited for the surgery. I felt so confident in Dr. Pousti that it calmed my nerves to nearly nothing. The staff that was working with Dr. Pousti was notably experienced professionals as well. The staff was incredibly comforting and proficient in their abilities. Before my surgery I was a small C/ large B, after my surgery, and 690 cc of saline under the muscle later, I am now a very beautiful and sexy full DD. (Actually, I recently went to Victoria Secret to treat myself and ending up purchasing a 34DD bra, however come to realize that it is a little too small! I absolutely love my new breasts, the only hard part is waiting for them to heal so I can flaunt them to my husband lol. I love the way he looks at my body, more specifically my breasts! I am a long time patient of Dr. Tom Pousti. I have lived in La Jolla for over 10 years and am very excited that Dr. Pousti has opened up an office in La Jolla. I had always had small breasts and thought of getting breast implants for many years. I moved from Orange County, California to La Jolla, California after my 2nd child was born and that is when I first visited Dr. Pousti. It has been 4 years since I had my upper eyelid surgery (upper blepharoplasty). Everyone always said that I looked “tired” and my eyes were very heavy. Dr Pousti and office staff, I just wanted to send an email off to the office to let you all know how happy I am and how wonderful the results of my surgery have been. From the beginning, just making the appointment for the consultation with Dr., things just went so smoothly. The office staff were friendly and as I came in for my appointment, I was greeted with smiling friendly faces. They made me feel very comfortable, it was almost like they already knew me, like I was an old friend, even though I was a new patient. My consultation was very informative and comfortable. I had been visiting with other plastic surgeons, always with my husband, and had met with a few that were almost upset that my husband was there. Dr. Pousti, on the contrary to those other surgeons, was very friendly and warm and answered all of my and my husbands questions and concerns assuredly and professionally. We talked openly about the procedures we wanted and expectations of the surgery were understood. The experience was so positive and we both felt so relaxed in our choice with Dr. Pousti with his professionalism and knowledge, we scheduled the surgery the same day. Although we had to change the surgery date from its originally scheduled date, Dr. called me at home on a Saturday afternoon to talk with me about having to reschedule. He was able to perform the procedures, a tummy tuck and breast augmentation, on the 29th of October at 11:00am. The staff at HealthSouth were great. Pre and post operatively, the nurses took very good care of me and the anesthesiologist, Dr. Rose, was a very sweet man. They all had wonderful things to say about Dr. Pousti. Post operatively, my first memory is Dr. Pousti standing near to me telling me that everything went beautifully. In a line I have no idea where it came from, my response was, “Yes, but will you still love me tomorrow.” A line Dr. will never forget…. it still makes me smile just thinking about it. We had the pain medication filled prior to surgery, as was directed, and the pain was nicely controlled by the medications prescribed. As the weeks seemed to fly by, each post operative appointment was met, the results of Dr. Pousti’s surgical expertise became more and more evident. As with my first consultations, the staff were wonderful and helpful. Dr.’s professionalism and warmth were there each and every time. I remember the first time I really looked at myself in the mirror and couldn’t believe what I was looking at. The breasts that were once uneven and flat, after years of being overweight and breast feeding, were now better than they ever were as a teenager, and then some! The stomach that was once hanging and in the way, was completely gone. I had a flat stomach for the first time ever! I couldn’t stop saying “WOW!” My husband was almost in tears because he saw how happy I was…finally. I am now at about 6 weeks post operative and I feel really good. Hi Dr. Pousti, I just wanted to write to you and tell you how you have changed my life. It has been about 2 1/2 months since my tummy tuck and breast augmentation. I recently went on vacation in Aruba and was able to wear a bikini without feeling self conscious. It was the most liberating experience of my life. I even walked around with a bikini top on and shorts and felt really good about myself. I have never shown my stomach to the public before. I have waited my whole adult life for this.

I had breast implants 2 1/2 months ago. Before the surgery, I had lost a lot of breast tissue from birth control. I went from a size 34 full C to a 34 small B. Because I had lost so much tissue, my breast became very saggy. I saw several plastic surgeons in the San Diego area, before meeting Dr. Pousti. After leaving the other plastic surgeons offices, I had always felt like I was just another $$. Some of them made comments like “I can do the surgery in under an hour!” That scared me immensely. I wasn’t interested in a race, I wanted someone who would take their time and give me the result I was looking for. Then I finally met Dr. Pousti. The first trip to his office, I was rather nervous and skeptical based on my previous experiences. I was greeted with smiling faces and by name! After speaking with Dr. Pousti, I was able to meet some of his patients who had already had the surgery. This was extremely helpful because I didn’t just get to look at pictures of his work but I was also able to get first hand information on the procedure from beginning to end. I was very surprised when I left his office for the first time, they thanked me for coming in and told me to feel free to come back as many times as I liked. WOW! I was expecting the phrase that I had gotten from every other office, “sign here and pick a date”. I had my breast augmentation surgery almost 4 years ago and I would like to share my story with you. I am 29 years old. I have been married for 4 years but been with my husband for seven years total. I have an 11 year old daughter. Before my pregnancy I was a B cup. While pregnant I got up to a full D. After only breast feeding for 3 months I stopped and I went down to a saggy small B. I thought my breasts looked horrible. I was very insecure about my body (mostly my breasts). Not to mention I’ve always struggled with my weight. I didn’t want my husband touching my breasts or seeing them. I was always covering up when I wore a bathing suit. As well as many women I was never seen without a push up bra. Basically I didn’t feel very attractive. So thanks to breast feeding, weight loss and weight gain, and getting older I was in desperate need of a breast augmentation. Well I was tired of it all! I was determined to have the surgery. I expressed my feeling that this would help my confidence, my self esteem and overall make me feel comfortable and better about myself. . I convinced my husband to let me do it. We did our research over the internet, Seen several different websites. The one that stuck out the most was Dr. Pousti’s. There was so much information, pictures, testimonials and most of our questions were answered on the web site. I scheduled a consultation appointment. I was impressed with the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. Doctor Pousti was very kind, friendly, and had a calming way about him. And I had the surgery. The surgery center was wonderful. Doctor Pousti made me feel safe and calm before the surgery started. When I woke up I was so happy. The first thing I did was looked under my gown at my breasts, put my hands on them, smiled and said “oh I have boobies”. Recovery wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. After 1 month I didn’t have to wear my best friend any more (the bra). I was so happy that I could finally go shopping for new bras. Having this procedure was the best thing I could do for my self. Now I hold my head up high, I’m more comfortable with myself and I have more self confidence. Also I’m defiantly not shy or embarrassed showing off to my husband. I am so much more confident and love the way my figure looks. I went to a couple of consultations and didn’t spend more than a few minutes with the other doctor’s or met with their nurses-but my consult with Dr. Pousti was much different! I spent about an hour and a half the first consult talking with Dr. Pousti and talking to other patients about their experience. I enjoyed being in the office and felt so comfortable. I had already paid for the surgery and about a week before the surgery I had something come up and was going to have to cancel the surgery to use the money for something else. I called Dr. Pousti’s office and was pretty upset and they were very compassionate and had a check ready for me to pick up the next day. I’m happy to say that I didn’t need to cancel after all, but was very impressed with their desire to help me out. The day of surgery was such a breeze. The nurses at the surgery center were very nice and had nothing but nice things to say about Dr. Pousti. I knew I was in good hands. I woke up after the surgery and felt a little pain so the nurse gave me something for the ride home and I pretty much slept the rest of the day. The next day I was still pretty sore and stayed in bed all day except to go to the bathroom (required help getting up and pulling my pants up/down). By the afternoon the 3rd day I was up and about and felt pretty darn good. I was riding my bike after 2 weeks and healing has been an easy process…I’m SO happy with my results and I couldn’t ask for a better experience. After years of being unhappy with my breasts I finally felt it was time to start researching breast augmentation. I found lots of helpful information on the internet and looked at literally hundreds of breasts. I was rather disappointed in most of the before and after photos from many different doctors. I knew I would be a slightly difficult case because I was unhappy with the shape of my breasts and the distance between them, as well as wanting them to be larger. When I came across Dr. Pousti=s site I was pleased with the results of his before and after photos from previous patients. I would have been happy with any of the after photos as my own breasts. So I scheduled a consultation.
I couldn=t even contain myself the morning of my surgery. I brought the rice bra with me again to show Dr. Pousti, and I kiddingly said, AFill >er up!@ as I showed him the bra. I understood that he could only try to give me the look and size that I wanted; there were no guarantees. The nurses were all so kind and reassuring. I met with my anesthesiologist and then went under. Dr. Pousti uses sizers to ensure that you get the size you wanted. He had tried a 600cc sizer and decided it was too big. He knew I wanted to be large, but not huge. I was then given 525cc implants overfilled to 575ccs. I woke up groggy but so amazed. I had a chest! Between the bandages I could see cleavage. Cleavage…me with cleavage! Because my breasts were naturally constricted and so far apart, cleavage was something I had never really experienced. I stayed in the surgery center for a short while after I awoke and spoke with Dr. Pousti. He said everything went very well. I was still flabbergasted.

I would like to let you know what I think about Dr. Tom Pousti and his staff. I had my surgery 4 years ago and would do it again in a heartbeat. I actually wish that I had done it earlier (I had such a great experience). Dr. Pousti and his staff made me feel so comfortable. When I was a teenager, friends and family told me not to worry about my flat chest- that would all change after I had a child. They were wrong, I had my first at 20, and two years later, had less breast tissue than before pregnancy. I could feel my ribs through my breasts.
So, I started doing research, and going on consultations. I went to several Dr.’s before I decided on Dr. Pousti. I was very impressed with the office staff- they were all very friendly and helpful. They made me comfortable. Dr. Pousti was very patient, he was happy to answer all of my questions and he had a picture of a previous breast augmentation he had done for a woman with the same characteristics as mine- FLAT. Other Doctors told me that they couldn’t go bigger than a certain size because I didn’t have enough flesh to work with. This was not what I wanted to hear. Because of money problems, I put off my surgery for three years. I wish I’d just done it in the first place, instead of waiting. I eventually went back to Dr. Pousti, because I remembered how comfortable I was with him and the office staff. At my first appointment in three years I scheduled my surgery because I was completely comfortable there. I had my surgery August 12, 2005. We were late, because I left the instructions at home but we made it to the correct surgery center- finally. The staff at Alvarado Surgical center was friendly, the anesthesiologist came in to talk to me and reassure me that it would all be all right. The scariest part was walking into the operating room and laying down on the table. I guess I looked as freaked out as I felt, because Dr. Pousti held my hand (maybe he was checking my pulse? Either way, it made me feel better) and I was out within about 10 seconds. I woke up in a recovery room, and the nurse brought me some water and a pill (musta been something strong!). Now it seems like I just woke up and jumped out of bed. I probably did, because the drugs were very good. I got up, got dressed, threw up (empty stomach) and left. I remember most of it, but I don’t remember pain until that night when it woke me up, when I was ready for more drugs.. I was off the drugs four days after surgery. I didn’t notice a lot of bruising- so I believe that Dr. Pousti was as gentle as he could be and still get the job done. For about a month, my chest was a little uncomfortable- achy mostly, but once I didn’t have to wear a surgical bra, it was fine within a week. Six weeks after surgery, I started running again, and it’s great! I actually wear a sports bra now! Thanks to Dr. Pousti, I now have a very nice 34C. I have no rippling, or any other problems – they’re beautiful, soft, even and most importantly, natural looking. Pre-surgery, my left nipple was a little higher than my right, but after surgery, I can’t tell that there was ever any difference. I heard terrible things about breast augmentation gone wrong, but have had nothing but luck with mine. I would refer anyone to Dr. Pousti, and I did- my grandmother! I’m really looking forward to this summer when I can show everything off, and finally feel sexy. I have boobs! Life is great! ~Kelly

My story I imagine is very similar to many others. After having two children I felt that my body would never be like it was before kids. I worked out and got down to my pre- pregnancy weight, however with the weight loss I lost volume and fullness in my breasts. The more I lost the more they sagged. I realized that no amount of excersize and dieting would bring back the fullness I once had.

I am 18 years old and live in Hemet, California. I went to Doctor Pousti wanting breast augmentation. I met with Doctor Pousti several times before scheduling my operation and always felt comfortable and well taken care of. The staff in his office were also very kind and interested in my procedure. I then made my operation date for June 4, 2005.
After surgery, I experienced mild discomfort, but nothing intolerable. Dr. Pousti called several times after surgery to see how I was doing, including a few hours after the procedure. Dr. Pousti always showed how much he cared. After a week , all the discomfort was gone. It is now October 21, 2005, approximately five months after my prodedure, and I could not be happier with my results. I was a bit hesitant initially to proceed with this type of elective surgery. It was after hearing you at the seminar describe procedures with their benefits and potential risks that I felt a bit more at ease about selecting you as my doctor. Upon my consultation with you, I was then convinced that you were most qualified and that I would enjoy having you see me through this process. In part, it was your sense of humor that placed me at ease. That has helped to sustain me through each subsequent visit. I first considered breast augmentation in my teens. For years, I considered it as “something I may do in the future” but then one evening, I was in the gym and I looked into the mirror and said to myself “this is rediculous, you should just do it!” I work in healthcare so choosing the right doctor was very important to me.
