Face Lift : Rhytidectomy Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a good age to have a facelift? A: There is no specific age for having a facelift. The results of a facelift can be subtle or very dramatic depending on the patients appearance before surgery.
Q: Are the incisions visible after facelift surgery? A: No, if done correctly, all of the incisions associated with facelift surgery can be hidden in normal creases / folds of the face or in the hairline.
Q: How long before I can go back to work? A: Every patient is different. We will ask you to take it easy for the first 1-2 weeks after surgery (no bending over, no heavy lifting, no excessive moving of the head and neck, etc).
Q: How long is the swelling there? A: Swelling will be significant the first couple of weeks. It will gradually subside but the swelling will take months to completely go away. Dr. Pousti suggests using Arnica for less bruising and faster recovery.
