This 21-year old patient from El Cajon, California (East San Diego County) is post op gastric bypass surgery in 2007, after her significant weight loss of over 120lbs, the patient was happy about the weight loss but unhappy about the “saggy skin” and “droopy breasts”. She decided to look into breast implants, breast lifting(mastopexy) and tummy tuck surgery(abdominoplasty).
Before Gastric Bypass Surgery
The patient was referred to Dr. Pousti by Kaiser Plastic Surgery. During her consultation, Dr. Pousti explained the procedures in detail to the patient and her mom and they were impressed by his experience with post-gastric bypass surgery patients. With the patient in excellent health, She decided to proceed with all of the procedures at the same time.
She also chose silicone gel breast implants to achieve the fullness that she wanted with the most natural looking and feeling implants.
The patient met with Dr. Pousti the night before surgery to have markings performed to map the surgery in detail. Once again the planned procedure was explained in detail as well.
In the operating room, the abdominal wall muscles were repaired and excess skin removed.
The abdominal binder and bra with bandeau will be worn for 4-weeks. These garments will help protect and support these areas and aid in the healing process. The drains that you see are removed 1-2 weeks after surgery.
Along with the breast lift (mastopexy), 550cc silicone gel breast implants were used in both breasts with submuscular placement.
The patient is now 3-months post-op surgery and is very pleased with the results of her surgery.
