This 46 year old patient from Santee, California was interested in gynecomastia surgery to reduce the amount of tissue in his breast area. He had been considering the surgery for a couple of years. He found Dr. Pousti while researching online for board certified plastic surgeons who would be able to perform his procedure nicely. Gynecomastia is defined as the visible or palpable development of breast tissue in boys or men. Gynecomastia is a condition in which males develop enlargement of the breast. This is quite common in adolescents and is often first noted at the onset of puberty. Gynecomastia affects an estimated 40% to 60% of men.
At his consultation, the procedure was reviewed in detail and the process of performing liposuction under the breasts was reviewed. Dr. Pousti suggested that in addition to the gynecomastia, a lift be performed as well to keep the areola in the best position to achieve ideal results. The patient proceeded with surgery.
Below shows the skin that is going to be removed and sutured back together. This removal of skin will help raise the areola.
The patient is shown below immediately post-surgery from multiple angles.
