This 28-year old patient was unhappy with the appearance of her breasts and was interested in breast augmentation surgery for several years. She wanted breast fullness while maintaining a ‘natural look’. The patient didn’t know if she needed breast lifting along with implants to achieve her goals so she decided to visit Dr. Pousti’s office to get his professional opinion.
Upon examination it was determined by Dr. Pousti that in order to achieve her desired look a breast lift with augmentation was her best option. During her visit the patient was able to meet some of Dr. Pousti’s previous patient’s and discuss their experience with him. She felt extremely comfortable and knew instantly that Dr. Pousti was the right surgeon for her breast procedures.
Dr. Pousti and the patient meet several times prior to surgery to discuss the breast augmentation with mastopexy in detail and make sure that all questions are answered. Prior to the actual procedure measurements of the patient’s breasts are taken. The measurements are used as an aide to ensure symmetry is achieved during marking. Dr. Pousti marks the patient’s breast before the procedure to show where incision lines will be.
In the Operating Room Before the Procedure is Performed.
After the markings are rechecked in the operating room incisions are made and breast tissue is re-arranged. The patient’s nipple/areola complex are relocated to a more symmetrical position on the the breast mound and sizers implants are placed in the breast pocket. The sizer implants are used in the majority of breast surgeries to help determine the size of the implant needed to achieve the patient’s desired look.
Immediately After Surgery in Operating Room
In order to correct breast asymmetry present prior to surgery 2 different sized implants were used. Saline breast implants were used and filled to 490cc in the right breast and 510cc in the left breast. The patient is extremely happy with the results of her breast augmentation and mastopexy surgery.
