| This 35 year old from Chula Vista, California was interested in a breast augmentation surgery after pregnancy left her with much smaller breasts. After researching online, she found double board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Pousti and felt his experience, credentials, and patient testimonials were extremely impressive.
Dr. Pousti examined the patient and recommended a breast augmentation using silicone gel implants to achieve her desired look. She wanted to maintain natural looking breasts proportionate to her body frame but wanted to increase her fullness and cleavage that was lost after giving birth. The patient felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Pousti and decided to proceed with her breast enlargement surgery. The patient and Dr. Pousti met prior to the start of surgery to perform markings and further discuss the patient’s goal size. Dr. Pousti instructed the patient to bring in pictures illustrating the size and breast shape that she wanted to achieve.
Implant sizers are used prior to implant placement to determine implant sizing and view potential results. The sizer implant is filled with air until the patient’s goals size, based on the pictures she brought in, has been achieved. Dr. Pousti sits the patient upright several times throughout this process to check for symmetry, fullness, and shape. Once the implant size has been noted, Dr. Pousti prepares the silicone gel implants for placement using the Keller Funnel method. This technique uses a funnel to place the silicone implants into the breast pocket without any other contact. By using the funnel instead another device/hands, the risk of contamination is greatly reduced.
405cc silicone gel implant was used in the patient’s left breast and a 445cc silicone gel implant for the right breast.
