| This 38 year old patient from San Diego, California was very unhappy about her excess infra axillary breast tissue and was interested for several years to get it removed. She was referred to Dr. Pousti by her close friend and patient of his and was impressed with his experience.

Axillary breast tissue affects between 2 and 6 percent of women with relatively larger breast. Breast augmentation is sometimes performed during the surgery but not in this case.

Before the procedure is performed Dr. Pousti will mark the desired area. Markings indicate exactly where the incisions will be placed.

Dr. Pousti will then start the procedure by making a elliptical incision in the armpit. Once that elliptical incision occurs he will then remove the excess skin under the armpit in which the patient was unhappy with.
After a surgery is performed, the incised area is sutured closed.
Recovery takes about 2 weeks depending on the extent of the surgery. Limiting lifting is important. It can take 6 months or more to see how the scars will evolve.
