This 49 year old patient with congenital symmastia was interested in breast enhancement and improvement of her congenital symmastia. She researched online and found Dr. Pousti and was pleased with his expertise regarding breast surgery and specifically symmastia repair. After multiple emails and phone discussion, the patient flew into San Diego to meet with Dr. Pousti and discuss her case in detail.
Dr. Pousti discussed the potential risks and complications with the patient and also let the patient know that there would most likely need to be multiple surgeries to achieve a nice result. The first surgery would be placement of breast implants as well as liposuction of the cleavage area. The photo below is the patient’s first surgery.
Once things have healed from the first surgery (photo below), Dr. Pousti recommended returning to the operating room for breast revision surgery – additional liposuction as well as capsulorrhaphy and the use of ADM (also called Acellular Dermal Matrix) of the cleavage area.
The patient was very pleased with her first operation but is now ready to proceed with her second operation to improve the definition of her cleavage area with the use of Strattice and the internal bra.
The patient and Dr. Pousti discuss realistic expectations and proceed with revision surgery to improve the cleavage area. The markings and measurements are performed prior to surgery. You can see the “green areas” marked where the ADM will be placed.
Liposuction will be performed in the cleavage area and the patient was looking for larger breast implants to be placed if possible.
The photo below shows the tissue removed from the cleavage area to improve the contour of the cleavage.
Immediately after revision breast augmentation surgery, correction of congenital symmastia, bilateral breast medial capsulorrhaphy, the use of acellular dermal matrix and larger ultra high profile breast implants.
The patient is loving her cleavage area!
