| This 20-year-old patient from Orange, California (Orange County) is post breast augmentation surgery in 2006, due to the results of her surgery, the patient was extremely unhappy with the results of her previous surgery.

The patient researched “Symmastia”, and found an article on Dr. Pousti’s website.
Symmastia – commonly referred to as “bread loafing” or “uni-boob”, occurs when two implants touch one another in the center of the chest. Symmastia is a result from overly aggressive attempts to alter chest wall anatomy trying to increase cleavage in patients.
Understanding the complexity of her case, the patient came in to meet with Dr. Pousti to discuss her surgery in further detail. After seeing many, excellent before and after photos of his revisionary work, the patient knew that Dr. Pousti was the best surgeon for her.

Markings were made in detail the night prior to surgery, Dr. Pousti demonstrates, with little pressure on both sides, the implants merge together. The markings show where the corrections will be made to repair the symmastia.

In order to achieve her desired look, internal sutures were used to repair her cleavage area and to also create an “internal bra” for the new position of the implants.

Temporary in-sizers were used and filled to achieve the desired look of the patient, then is converted into cc’s.

Immediately after surgery, cleavage is obtained, and with light to moderated pressure on both sides, the implants no longer touch.
The patient is 1-month post-op surgery with new 450cc silicone-gel breast implants in both breasts made by Mentor Corporation. She is extremely please with the results of her surgery.
