This 50 year old is a previous patient of Dr. Pousti’s. She had her breast surgery over 10 years ago. Recently she noticed her right breast “hardening” and not looking or feeling “right” so she came in for an examination and to discuss revisionary breast augmentation. She had developed capsular contracture of the right breast.
After examination, Dr. Pousti was concerned that if something wasn’t performed quickly, the patient might have a right breast implant exposure. The skin on the lower pole of the right breast was very thin and the implant was very close to the surface. Dr. Pousti recommended removal of the breast implants and the thin skin and to allow things to heal before re-augmentation.
This patient had full confidence in Dr. Pousti’s expertise with breast surgery and so she decided to proceed with breast implant removal and removal of the scar tissue on the right side.
Below you see the breast implants and capsule that were removed during the surgery.
Above photos show the patients immediately after bilateral breast implant removal.
