| This 38-year-old patient from Guanajuato, Mexico is status post breast augmentation surgery and several attempts of revisionary breast surgery to repair her symmastia (performed by other surgeons) in Mexico.

Due to unsuccessful attempts to symmastia repair, the patient searched on the Internet for a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who is Board Certified and experienced in symmastia repair.
During her research, the patient reviewed many successful revisionary breast surgery cases performed by Dr. Pousti, and was convinced Dr. Pousti was the best surgeon for her. She traveled from Mexico to San Diego for her consultation. After meeting with Dr. Pousti and discussing her surgery in detail, the patient decided to proceed with surgery.

The patient flew in the night before surgery and markings were made for the planned procedure.

Internal sutures were used to repair the symmastia, space obtain in the cleavage area by creating an “internal bra” to hold the implants in it’s new position.

Surgical tape was used to ensure proper healing of the corrections made.

The thong bra is usually worn 3-6 months depending on the serverity of the case. This will allow the sutured area between the breasts to heal properly without excessive pressure being applied to the reconstructed area.
The patient is now post op surgery with new 600cc, smooth, round, high profile silicone-gel breast implants made by Mentor Corporation. The patient is very pleased with the results of her surgery.
