| This 30-year old patient from San Diego, California was unhappy with the appearance of his chest. He had gynecomastia (a condition in which males develop enlargement of the breasts). Gynecomastia affects an estimated 40% to 60% of men. It may affect only one breast or both.

The patient researched for a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in Southern California who was experienced in treatement of gynecomastia and found Dr. Pousti’s webiste. During his consultation, the patient was able to review many before and after pictures of patients with the same cases, the patient knew Dr. Pousti was the right surgeon to perform his surgery.

Markings were carefully made prior to surgery. The lines represent the areas where the tissue will be removed to improve the contour of the chest.

An incision around the areola was made and the surrounding excess skin were removed. Liposuction was used to remove excess glandular tissue around and near the aerola.

Here is the tissue and fat removed from each chest.

The patient was placed in the upright position to confrim size and symmetry. The “puckering” will smooth out with time to show a smooth chest wall.
