Oftentimes it is the decision of the patient to have the implants inserted above or below the muscle. The choice of incision location and type also varies by patient preference as well as physical anatomy. The surgical procedure is performed in a modern and state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center with the patient under general anesthesia. The size of the implant as well as the type – either saline or silicone – as well as the relative advantages will be discussed with Dr. Pousti at the pre-operation appointment.

Expectations Post-Operation

The most important step to speedy recovery is bed rest, especially the day of surgery. Take in plenty of fluids while preventing any aggravation to the chest. For the first week of recovery, a fitted bra will be given to you, with the ability to shower as quickly as two or three days after the operations. In the beginning, your breasts will appear a bit higher than normal, which will slowly start to descend to a more natural position over the next 3-6 weeks. It is common that your chest will feel a bit sore for a few days after the surgery, and by the end of the first week you will feel comfortable.

I had found that there were no local surgeons that were experienced in going even remotely “large”. I called the offices of at least 10 surgeons in the Austin area, and not one had much experience going over 500cc’s. When I said that I was looking for 1000+, none of them were even interested. And I’m glad they weren’t, or I would have never looked outside of my local area.

Looking through Dr. Pousti’s before and after pictures for XL breast implants, I quickly came to realize that he had amazing skills, not only in the smaller sizes, but in making girls look great with well over 1000 cc’s.

I asked to go with as many CCs as was safe in terms of my health, and to reduce or eliminate the gap between my breasts, which was especially bad when I would lay down. What To Expect After The Surgery

Rest in bed is mandatory the day of surgery, while taking in plenty of fluid and no aggravation to the chest. For the first week, a bra will be fitted and you will be able to shower possibly as fast as two to three days after the operation. Initially, your breasts will have the appearance of being a bit higher than normal, and over the next three to six weeks, the implants will descend to a more natural position. Typically your chest will also feel a bit sore for a few days, which should abate quickly and by the end of the first week you should feel very comfortable.

His demeanor, obvious vision & talent (check out the TON of before and after pics on his web site), integrity (I was incredibly impressed to see that he lists price ranges on his web site – something almost no other doctor does), and clear desire to ensure his patients are comfortable and well-informed (how great that he provides info on his web site on how to prepare for your consultation, and makes it possible for potential patients to consult with post-op patients) convinced me that Dr. Pousti was the only choice for performing the multiple procedures in which I was interested (breast lift & augmentation, arm lift, and tummy tuck).
And what an excellent decision that was! I could not be happier with the results of my procedures. I worked very hard over a three year period to lose approximately 135 pounds, and it was incredibly important to me to have the best work done on my body as possible. Everything went really well with the actual surgery, and my recovery has been great, too. I appreciated the frequency of my post-op visits with Dr. Pousti – made me feel well taken care of and gave me a boost of energy and excitement to help me stay positive! And his staff has been wonderful, too – especially Daisy & Vanessa, the two who have helped me most during my recovery. They are lovely, warm, caring individuals who took great care of me! I’m currently 9 weeks post-op, and still have a bit of healing to do, but from my perspective the results are already phenomenal. Where will I have my consultation

Most patients from Palm Springs choose to schedule their consultation in our Temecula Office, just an hour away from Palm Springs. If you prefer, you are also welcome to schedule you consultation in our main San Diego center.

• Two weeks ago I had labial reduction surgery and I could not be more pleased. It looks so good and at only two weeks post surgery! I went in for a consult with Dr. Pousti and three weeks later I was having the surgery done. I am 23 years old and suffered problems from my labia minora since my very early teens. A few years ago I heard about the procedure and up until that time, I didn’t know there was anything wrong with me. After doing more and more research, I decided I wanted to have it done. • I am a 23 year old female from the Palm Springs area. Me and three of my friends decided to have breast augmentation surgery together. We all felt good about going through it together. I wanted to get one since I was about 15 or 16 and realized I wouldn’t get any bigger than an A cup.

  We researched local doctors a little bit and asked around as to what people’s opinions were on these doctors. We heard some good things and some bad things. We were referred to Dr. Pousti by someone who had been a patient of his. We decided it was worth it to go outside of Palm Springs to have such a great surgeon.

  His office was very accomodating and once we went for our consultation we had no doubt in our minds that we would go with Dr. Pousti. I had open heart surgery when I was nine, due to a birth defect, and therefore have a scar that goes across my chest. I was so excited when Dr. Pousti said he could use the same scar for the incision. Three out of four of us were able to have our surgery all on the same day and stayed in a hotel room with our husbands. Dr. Pousti gave me 510 cc’s of saline in each implant.

  I am very happy with the results and so are my friends. I have always been curvier on the bottom half, so now I have the top to match. I feel like I look much more proportionate and look better in my clothes. I feel more confident too.

  To anyone looking into getting a breast augmentation I say go for it. I don’t have any regrets and the recovery time and any discomfort you go through is very minimal in my opinion. It was a lot easier and less scary than I thought it would be. Dr. Pousti is a fabulous surgeon and he won’t let you down.

I am a 21 year old female from Palm Springs California. I have always wanted to have breast augmentation, but have been too scared to do so because of all the horror stories that I had heard. Myself and two of my friends started discussing it and decided that we should all have it done together at the same time. We started searching locally for surgeons, but couldn’t find a surgeon in Palm Springs that we felt comfortable enough with. Then, I talked with my sister who referred me to Dr. Pousti. She was planning on going to him for reconstructive surgery as her first breast augmentation (done by a doctor in Mexico) went wrong and she had developed symmastia. I looked up Dr. Pousti’s website and knew at once that I wanted to meet with him. Every surgeon I had looked up in the Palm Springs area had maybe three before/after photos on their websites of breast augmentations. Doctor Pousti had what seemed to be hundreds! We made an appointment to meet with him that week, and the rest is history. Doctor Pousti and his staff were so kind and helpful in answering the many questions and concerns that I had, and dispelled many of the scary “myths” I’ve heard associated with breast augmentation surgery. The staff treated me like a friend the minute I walked in the door, and still treat me that way when I return for my post operative visits. On our first visit to Dr. Pousti’s, we were able to meet with patients who had just had their surgery 24 hours prior who were there for their post-op. Dr. Pousti left the room, and we were allowed to ask them any questions we had about their experience with Dr. Pousti, and whether they would recommend him. Both patients were very happy with their experience and results, and seemed to be so alert and not in pain considering they just underwent surgery. After meeting with Dr. Pousti, we decided to go ahead and make our appointment for surgery.
I would recommend Dr. Pousti to any person looking to get breast augmentation done. I am VERY VERY pleased with my results, and if I would have known how easy and relatively pain-free it would be, I would have done it sooner! Dr. Pousti in my opinion is the very best surgeon out there-which is why I made the decision to travel from Palm Springs to San Diego to use him.
