Well, my journey really starts at age 5, when I decided that when I grew up I wanted massive round fake breasts. A lot of people don’t understand that, and that is totally fine. We all have different likes and dislikes, that’s what keeps the world interesting. =)
My first experience with augmenting (800cc Silicones.) was not a great one. I had a few minor cosmetic complications, and my surgeon had rather poor bedside manner (will not say who it is, for lack of wanting to get sued for defamation of character.)
So I went in search of a surgeon I knew would not be scared to put the numbers I wanted in my breasts. I was gifted with a natural G cup chest, so I didn’t start in the A range as a lot of ladies who get augmentations do. The average surgeon wouldn’t touch me because of that, so specialist doctors were always a necessity for me.
After a lot of study, and contacting many surgeons. I came to the conclusion to pursue Dr.Pousti in California. In the end, I was so impressed by my phone consultations, and his honesty, that I flew all the way from Japan to California, specifically to receive care from this surgeon.
It is very important to me that surgeons not sugar coat a process. I don’t like someone trying to sell me homeopathics or shush away my questions about scarring. I am not medically trained, but given my interest in augmentations from such a young age, I have studied the topic thoroughly from the first moment I had access to the Internet. I am also not a stupid person, so someone placating me and brushing off legitimate questions about complications irritates me to no end.
Dr.Pousti not only met my expectations in this regard, but went far beyond them. His professionalism was something I have never seen matched before, but still manages to maintain a casual and approachable air to his bearing.
If you are considering an XL implant, I would consider it folly to not at least contact him and ask some questions. It’s always best to find the surgeon that is right for you, but I really could not stress enough how much I recommend this man.

I was nervous about a lot of things at my first in person consultation. I knew I wanted to achieve 1600ccs at least, and my doctor assured me that was possible. I told him that 2000ccs or more would basically make my day, but that I was not expecting anything like that, since my current implants were only 800 ccs.
We discussed complications at great length, and the doctor spent a bit of time talking to my husband about after care, but also assured us that after the surgery he would be reminded of the important stuff and given literature to reference as well.
The day of surgery came, and I was shocked to find myself at a small private surgical office, rather than a big hospital. My last experience had been at a hospital, where all of the nurses were judging me for wanting to go larger with natural G breasts. It was very intimidating and intense right before undergoing a massive surgery.
So this time, going to a tiny private medical facility, staffed entirely by people who Dr.Pousti hand picked, made me feel both welcome and at home. I was treated amazingly well, and all of the nurses were patient with my endless onslaught of questions.
Before I knew it, I was waking up groggily in a pleasant little curtained off area. I glanced around, and a nurse was at my side the second I moved. I can’t honestly remember these moments clearly, but I vaguely recall questioning pain levels and nausea.
I do distinctly remember requesting my husband. Sadly he was not allowed to see me till after my pain levels were down to around a 5.
But at around this point, I look down at my chest and see the number “2530″ written in sharpie on my breasts…. I think to myself… No… No… That can’t be… I just… Really?
When my husband was allowed in to see me, I asked him excitedly if anybody had told him what number I had reached, he said no, so I showed him the sharpie marks. We were both giddy with excitement, and he hugged me as softly as one can to a patient recovering from a massive surgery. =p
My trip home was a little uncomfortable, and the next few days were pretty unpleasant.
Pousti’s staff contacted me daily, sometimes more if I had expressed any anxiety on my first phone call of the day. Constantly making suggestions or recommendations for my complaints or ales.
It is just a simple matter of science that adding almost 1800cc of saline to each breast in a matter of hours will cause a lot of pain. I am one of those people who refuses to admit any kind of weakness, so taking pain medication is not something I enjoy, so I took the minimum that I could stand. A lot of sleep happened, and a lot of pain. I was up and about in as little as three days though.
I had a follow up appointment a few days after the surgery, where Pousti checked my breasts and gave me the thumbs up, then at the two week mark I came back in to have my steri strips removed before my trip back home (Japan). All seemed well, and both Dr.Pousti and his staff continued to live up to the high standards I had come to expect.
My trip home was a painful one, with many delayed planes, and getting stuck in Tokyo overnight thanks to San Francisco’s air traffic control sucking. But I managed to cope with all of it with only taking pain meds twice. (once on the long flight, once at the terminal after having to run with all of my baggage to try and catch a flight after my plane landed two hours late.)
I am now home, and my breasts are sitting comfortably and healing wonderfully. I am using Tegaderm bandages over the sutures, to keep them 100% dry. I am still terrified of a complication, but at this point I think I am almost in the clear as far as infections go. My incisions are closing more and more every day.
I will keep updating this as time goes by, with my progress. I hope to continue to post such positive reviews and opinions, and I hope I convince a few ladies (or men.) to visit Dr.Pousti, as I truly think he is the most talented surgeon I have ever found, with my many many many years of searching. =)

You must read this- it will benefit you more than you know! I am here to tell you my experience, good and bad, with breast augmentation. I am very unique because I now have a rare type of implant called, “Becker” implants. I will be very blunt and with as much detail as I can. My story begins in Portland, Oregon about 4 years ago. I chose to get a breast augmentation. I began as a size 34 B…I wanted 500 CC implants, under the muscle, saline. (This brought me to a 34 DD.) The day before the surgery I started my menstrual cycle. When the doctor walked in the morning of the surgery, he seemed very on edge. I let him know about my cycle beginning and if that was an issue. He said, “I don’t think so”. I was displeased with his reaction and asked if he was certain and he reassured me everything would be fine. I figured since he was the doctor, he knew best and I got the surgery that day. After the bandages came off, I could easily see my left breast was lower than the right with an indented line running horizontally across the bottom of my breast. When he made the pocket for the implant, he made it too low. When I would flex my chest muscles, the line was unbelievably evident and grossly embarrassing. I was deformed by a choice I had made. I asked the doctor about the outcome and he said that after a few months I would look fine. After a while I noticed this was not going away. I was a student at the time, so I had to save up for a surgery to fix the last. In a year, I opted for another surgery by the same doctor. I figured that since he was the one to make the mistake, he should know exactly how to fix it. I chose to get silicone implants, 500 CCs, over the muscle so hopefully I could not flex and see the same line that ran horizontally across my breast as much…just in case he didn’t fix the indented line. He put sutures in to close the pocket that was too low. The end result was great for about a year. His surgery faltered again. At this point, I was beyond frustration. I began talking with other women who had breast surgery with him. The things I heard were horrific and sad. He was known for making this mistake with several other women. I wished I had spoken to more people and done more research. Word of mouth travels quickly. If you listen around you or take a little time to research doctors, you would be surprised at what you may find.
A friend had offered to help me with my situation to correct the issue with a different doctor. I could choose any doctor in the United States and my friend would fly me anywhere. I was on a mission to find the best. I called everywhere, interviewing plastic surgeons, and was on the internet for hours at a time. I became so educated about implants and doctors I felt like I could teach a class! I came across Dr. Pousti several times, began researching him and his past patients. The day came when I finally chose him over many many amazing doctors…even in Beverly Hills, where people expect surgeons do the best surgeries. I sent my horrific photos to Dr. Pousti with a plea for his help. The damage was just too extensive and he requested to see me. So I flew out to see him. We spoke many times over the phone as he studied my photos. This time, I chose to have 900 CC implants with silicone over the muscle. Because silicone implants max out at 800 CCs, Dr. Pousti tried to talk me out of such large implants. I was convinced of my decision. He then told me about the best implants you can get. They are called “Becker” implants. These are very unique as they have a saline bladder floating in a silicone implant. So basically you’ve got a bag filled with saline within a bag of silicone. The silicone is on the outside so the breasts won’t have a “wrinkled” look. The other great thing about these implants is- if there is an accident, my body will be exposed to a minimal amount of silicone. (Silicone does not absorb into the body like saline does.) The end result…is outstanding. Dr. Pousti even cut out scars around my areola from the other doctor. I am now a 34 DDD. Besides the size, they feel, look and “hang” more naturally than any other implant I have ever seen! (I have seen and felt at least 40 breast augmentations in person- I am certain it’s more.) Trust me when I say that if you go to someone else, you will be doing yourself a huge disservice. I am extremely blessed to have found him two years ago. I just wanted to give the low down to my husband! I went back about 2 more times before my appointment to give Dr. Pousti some pictures of my wishes!!! He knew I wanted 800cc minimum because there was alot of room to fill in those babies! I knew he’d grant my wishes!! Dr. Pousti’s main importance is the patients desires but he also always gives you any additional information you may need to know medically and so forth! Ok so what did I end up with…A GREAT PAIR OF NEW BOOBS!! I LOVE, LOVE THEM!! Dr. Pousti gave me everyhthing I wanted and then some. I decided to stay with saline because that was the best decision for me! When I came out of surgery he told my husband that I was going to be very happy! He was able to put in an 800cc bag and overfilled them to 1000cc.s!! I knew there was a lot of room up there for some nice, big, gorgeous boobs!! The size I have is definately a personal choice! I have no regrets of any!! My life style hasn’t changed at all! I am able to fully weight train and do cardio just like I did before!! So from my opinion and experience I hope you know you are going to have a wonderful doctor!! I have to admit I was trepidations about flying over 3,000 miles from New York to California to have a cosmetic procedure done however after viewing his amazing website, talking with his knowledgeable and friendly staff, doing my personal research and discovering he was double board certified along with his lengthy educational background, I knew I had found the right Surgeon to perform my surgery.

Upon meeting Dr. Pousti I recognized most of all his great and warm personality. He answered all of my questions very diligently, and most of all made me feel secure knowing I was going to be happy with the outcome of the surgery. He recognized the emotional feelings that accompany such a procedure and quickly made me feel at ease. I had been anticipating having the surgery done for over a year so you can imagine how I felt going in.
Let me just say that after the surgery I was AMAZED and SO HAPPY with the outcome. I had 400 cc silicone implants that were removed and replaced with saline implants. He was able to overfill my saline implants with over a 1000 cc’s!!! WOW, and I must say they look SPECTACULAR. So round and PERFECT just the way I wanted them! I mean he nailed it right on the head. I could not have asked for any better or more, he knew the look I wanted to achieve and delivered just as he assured me he would.
I am 3 wks. Post Op and I feel FANTASTIC! Every day gets better and I appreciate so much the follow up calls and emails I have been receiving from his staff.

I was told this doctor did XL implants. I requested XL, and close together cleavage. I paid my 500.00 deposit (non refundable) only to find out in pre op that they couldn’t do XL and would not put my implants any closer then my natural cleavage was. YIKES. It has been nine months since my surgery and I can’t thank you enough for how you have changed my life. It is so wonderful to be able to look as sexy as I feel. First of all I’d like to say that Dr. Tom Pousti was extremely accommodating to my schedule. I wanted to have my procedure done before my wedding. Dr. Pousti actually sat down with me with his calendar in front of both of us and made sure he got me scheduled in time to be operated on and recuperated enough for my wedding and honeymoon.

I’ve read on various plastic surgery websites that the easier recuperation time, the better your doctor. If this is what it is measured by then Dr. Pousti is indeed the best! My friends were astonished that within minutes of getting home from my surgery I was on the phone laughing and chatting with them.
